Staying Fit By Eliminating Health Risks

If you are trying to keep yourself healthy, staying fit and eating well should go together.  If one wants to live longer, these are the two primary elements that should be given utmost consideration.  One without the other is like trying to dance the tango alone.  Get what I mean?  To some very special individuals (perhaps there was a mutation we did not know about), staying fit alone or eating well along might be enough.  But to the ordinary common folk, exercising and keeping a balanced diet is the surefire solution to avoid obesity, cardiovascular problems, diabetes and all other medical conditions that we are trying to do without.  Not only that, aging can also be postponed, or at least hidden, through staying fit and eating well.  Let us however focus on the exercising aspect.

There are several ways of exercising.  If you are an athlete, well it’s kind of already your life.  For the ordinary person however, a little bit of effort might be in place.  With the numerous forms of exercise however, it should not be a problem.  If you are an outdoorsy kind of person, you can make it a habit to jog every morning before going to work.  Brisk walking also works.  If you do not want to do it before work, well you can brisk walk anytime within the day.  It is up to you to be creative.  Biking is another thing that contributes to staying fit.  Unlike the common misconception, biking not only works on the lower part of our body but it also includes the upper body as well as our five senses.

If you are an indoor kind of person, there are also several forms of exercise in this category that goes along with eating well balanced meals.  Take for example racquetball, badminton, basketball, volleyball and the like.  These sports can be practiced indoors.  Aside from that, one can also sign up for instructor-led exercise classes.  One can get into dancing, spinning, yoga, kickboxing, Pilates and the like.  There are so many ways of exercising that one simply has to look into what he finds most interesting.  It really is just a matter of prioritization and discipline.

The Overall Impact Of Staying Fit

In the subject of staying fit, it does not just refer to physical activities such as dancing, biking, yoga or pilates.  Staying fit extends to the mind, body and soul.  If we are to discuss the mental aspect of staying fit, it would basically refer to the mind’s conditioning.  Having a healthy and a sound mind by the way, does not just refer to the intellect, although it is largely comprised of that.  The definition of a healthy mind somehow crosses over to the emotional aspect.  Take for example how a person analyses, absorbs and reacts to a situation; this would define the state of mind of a person whether it is healthy or not.

We all have an obligation to take good care of the mental aspect of our lives.  In doing so, we also nurture and enhance our emotional state and well being.  One way of keeping a healthy mind is learning to exercise control over our emotions.  Another way is to contemplate and understand ones emotion thoroughly from time to time.  One can do this perhaps while fishing or biking during early mornings.  Or basically anytime where one can really just concentrate in staying fit mentally and just be with one’s self without any distractions.  Another aspect of staying fit refers to the body.  This is the physical aspect and is the most over hyped aspect among others.

Staying fit physically includes taking care of one’s health and body. One can do so in so many ways.  One can engage in a physical activity or basically any form of exercise like dancing, biking, playing basketball and the like.  As for the health, one needs to take care of what food to eat.  One must ensure that the body is getting the proper amount of nutrition that the body requires in order to function by keeping a balanced diet.  Finally, we have the spiritual aspect in staying fit.  In most cases, unless one is able to achieve in keeping a fit mind and body, one cannot get to this level.

Staying fit spiritually has a very deep level compared to the other two and is quite difficult to achieve.  The definition of being spiritually fit also differs from one person to the other and is largely influenced by one’s race, origin, culture and religion.  Indeed, staying fit only comprises of two words yet it means so much more and is essential in every person’s life in order to live as an independent being and co-exist with others.
